Whitegate & Marton Parish Council is pleased to announce that today it purchased the wooded areas of land (approx. 1.15 acres) surrounding the Beeches crossroads on Dalefords Lane.
This land was recently put up for sale by the Delamere Estate and the Parish Council felt it appropriate to purchase the land for the community’s benefit. This woodland is protected with a blanket Tree Protection Order and provides a wonderful habitat for an array of bird and animal life.
Furthermore, there are unofficial footpaths through the woods; which if lost, would mean residents, walkers and horse riders would have to navigate the busy road junction to walk around the woods. Our intention is to preserve these woods for parishioners, whilst maintaining the car park for use by Recreation Room visitors.
