Whitegate & Marton Parish Council formed a Neighbourhood Plan Development Group
It is made up of local volunteers, to manage and guide the development of the Neighbourhood Plan. The Plan was a community process and the group consulted regularly with residents as the plan progressed. Questionnaires, surveys, open meetings and open days and updates were held to provide opportunities for everyone in the parish to express their views prior to the Plan being subject to approval by public referendum before it can be adopted.
The Plan must accommodate the requirements of the Local Plan of Cheshire West & Chester Council within the National Policy Framework to provide a sustainable future for the parish.
Our Neighbourhood Plan is used to provide planning comments as part of the consultee process for planning applications within the parish. All planning decisions are made by Cheshire West and Chester Council. The Parish Council provide consultee comments on all planning applications.
August 2023 – We have undertaken a review of our Neighbourhood Plan and concluded no changes are needed to the NP as it remains as relevant today as it did when originally produced. It is expected to continue to be a useful tool in planning the parish’s future up to 2035 and hopefully beyond, full details of the review are available below.
